Currently a major complaint of the game is a quite toxic community, people kill on sight making the game stale and become a loot simulator, while raiding is quite fun, sometimes it creates a frustrating experience where zergs and hackers exploit smaller groups/solo players.
This also cause some players to only join servers on wipe day to avoid the frustration. The endgame now is just raiding until one side quits. I think it may be nice to add winning condition to the game where players can choose their prefered way to win.
For example, large groups can win by donating items to npc’s to rebuild exsisting monuments, taking it over and make it become a free for all community space tthat unlock structures and tech(railway for example),establishing a goverment, it can also recruit players to maintain the operations so players late to wipe can enjoy more.
For more blood thristy groups, their goal can be to dominate the map by taking over tiles on the map. Building bases on them and connecting the bases, winning when they reach a certain percentage of control, giving pvp a meaning and makes loot more useful. Smaller groups/solo’s can win by attempting different tasks, such as trading and becoming the largest supplier of weapons/food on the island or collecting items heavily guarded by npc’s that reveals the game’s lore.
There can be a progress bar thats represents the percentage different groups which rewards players at the end of each cycle so players may tend to assist each other more, easing the every man for himself and trust nobody phenomenon that is now so popular.
Thats like a whole different game, someone could probably mod a server to recreate something like that
