Create active cheater anticheat (CS:GO overwatch system)#13787

If multiple people who are unaffiliated in game report someone
If enough people report, a recording system records the cheaters POV and creates a recording with a 5min span and it ends this around the time where the cheater kills another person
10 people vote of the legitimacy
Majority wins
If in the case where the people who get killed get to vote just say yes on an innocent, when majority rules no, they might get called on less often to vote

So the overwatch system has a rating system. The higher your ranking the more you get chosen, the lower, the more you don’t.

The option to vote pops up as a UI side popup to people who are in base (have building priv) to avoid it messing up

Press tab to open your inventory, then it’ll pop up as an option to do the overwatch session with an accept or decline.

You watch a video which can be closed at anytime and vote afterwards.

You cannot trust people with alot of things, but when it comes to cheaters that directly affect the game dramatically is where I think you can all trust players on this.

im not familiair with the cs go system, this should only apply to people who are not verified, to my recolection you needed to verify with your phone, if someone doesnt do that then yes they are subject to this but if they verify they shouldnt be because people can always ban someone with 10k hours because they dont understand mechanics as well.

this would get so many of those 10000 hour nerds banned lol

[Revision to system]-Extra step: clip sent to admin cutting time cost

Good point. There’s that 1% that just highly questionable because of how good they are.

Maybe if it was set up where 10/10 votes must be positive.
Else, the clip is sent first into the queue of hacker reports

The amount of time wasted by admins checking each one is massive.
You might think this is same as a player report, but admins have to investigate for up to half an hour for any leads.
Using this method they can go right into the reason they got reported and quickly ban them in a matter of mere minutes

In fact if they adopt this, bans will be guaranteed to be instant or in a matter of minutes instead of a couple days.

Also alot of people have probably reported high skill players like hJune, Trausi, Posty, etc. But you can clearly see they weren’t banned.
So this gives alot of credibility to facepunch devs as the last cog in this system

@Ness Good idea but voting would need to take place on other servers since allowing players on the same server to view another players perspective could give away base location/design.

Also, as you said in your revision, it would be essential for admins to have final say, regardless of 10/10 positive votes. This is Rust, hella players would vote yes just to grief other players. This would be great to help admins prioritize reports though.
