give all players access to uploadsign, i feel that would be as good as sign artist is currently
Damn, this was fast.
Would be nice to know what features and pattern a topic must have to get this kind of attention. There are so many good/unique ideas that do fit rust game concept and they don’t even receive a status/reply from the staff.
Your idea is fine, the problem is that not all admin monitor the violent or pornographic content on a game played by children. Out of control stuff.
@y88cdw thats like saying gta can’t have nudity because children play it or an R rated movie. Parents should be responsible and adults shouldn’t be punished for it
Sure, and who’s responsible when an adult uploads child pornography to some Rust signs?
@Lama Love the person who uploaded it. Just like how facebook isnt responsible when someone does it there. See something criminal, report it to an admin, and they can check the log to see who uploaded it and contact the authorities
Sure, but Facebook had to develop all kinds of functionality to allow reporting and tracking down those people. It’s not worth it.
Wouldn’t that already be in the audit log? And thats as easy as tracking an ip which cops can do easy. I mean everything you do shows up in the code right? Especially uploading an image. As long as the server saves that, the owner can easily file a report with local authorities.
We’d need to store every single edit on the sign and manually go through the old revisions to find the actual culprit. And at that point we might only have a SteamID. Anybody can use a proxy or dynamic IP to throw those tracking attempts off.
It’s just not going to happen - this is only one reason.
Feds typically can crack vpns. Though given their tendencies to support pedos i guess you got a point
