#20139 - Advanced Server Filtering

Currently in Rust, it is always difficult, normally impossible, to find a server with your preferences.

The current filtering system in the game really doesn’t help anything at all, but it would be a massive quality-of-life improvement if admins of servers were forced to set and enforce rules such as:

  • Max Team Limit
  • Map Wipe Schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly)
  • BP Wipe Schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly)
  • Exact Number of players
  • Certain ping or lower
  • Map Size
  • Type of map (PGM, Hapis, Barren, Other)
  • Vanilla, 2x, 3x, 5x…
  • Primary Language of Server
There are more but these are the main ones that I can think of.

It’s mildly frusturating that many servers have no description or minimal information, and the worst case scenario is when they don’t tell you the wipe schedule and just erase all of your progress whenever the server dies out to try and repopulate it.

It makes no sense why Battlemetrics and other sites are better to use to find a server than the dang server finder in game. Also- the filtering is exact word matching and is infuriating. The filtering page definitely needs some focus.

Agreed, also for newer players maybe in the server filter even suggest that they look at a Community or Modded server?

When you’re new you just go straight to Official servers, not really expecting/anticipating that those ones are by far the toughest ones.

yes and please allow blacklisting servers
(so you can for example blacklist a server where you have played and know that that server has abusive admins, or the server is fake wiping also)

Allow Regex syntax.
