Having a tier 2 or 3 support weapon that isn’t a laser would allow pretty much anyone to fill out the role of suppressing a group of players. The m249 at the moment acts as an overpowered version of an assault rifle, or as a very expensive raid tool for those who have way too much explosive ammo and not enough time. A weapon that you can produce that has something like a wide aim cone even when aiming down the sights, where you don’t expect 100% of your shots to hit target while The recoil is low enough that you can continue to stay on target would allow you to most effectively manage firing at groups of people without lasering them down as well as making sure they can’t just run at you and expect to not get hit.
