instead of having to craft a new workbench make it upgradeable by holding the building hammer, right clicking and then an option to upgrade

They have different dimensions so this can be an issue

All specific researching tiers would have to be available

Or make tham pickable

if you make them pickable everyone is just going to steal every lvl 3 WB after a raid

Maybe if there’s an option within the work bench of what tier items you want to blueprint.

Some modded servers already have this option. Basically what they do is that you can drag your new workbench into the research slot (if I’m correct) and it’ll automatically update. The size difference can be an issue, but you just have to calculate that ahead of time.

@Sosig The different sizes could be handled the same as foundation upgrades. When there is something in the way of the upgraded part it fails and says so. in many cases the size wouldn’t be a problem anyway and you can always move other stuff.
I agree with not being able to pick them up only for the stated reason that people will take them. Bt it wouldn’t be the end of the world since as things are the landscape is often littered with workbenches from decayed bases.

Only the player who placed the item should be able to pick it back up but like most things it loses durability BUT should not be repairable

i agree each tier bench should be reserchable within tier 3. just click on the level you want to reserch and it will be backwards compatable for researching. if you have learned them all then gray out the compleated tier of researching compleated.

Brillilant. Great for solo players that don’t have a huge base. Or, at least let us pick them up as said above.
