Hardcore: Disable drone services#29152

Drones further destroy the aspect of having to transverse the map in order to do anything. You can buy things from vendors that would normally be risky to get back and forth from if you went the distance to reach them. Also, you can simply buy your own rock and ship your goods back home safely from across the map. It is a complete disaster, along with safezones in general, how people can easily exploit these awful designs to further make the game trivial.

NPC vendors shouldn’t even be in the game, on that note. It takes away from the natural commerce of players interacting with other players, sharing and trading resources with each other, like it once was. In a “survivial” game, having soda machines to buy drinks from when you are thirsty and Home Depot machines to buy wood from when you need a house, among all the other nonsense they provide, is just laughable.

I dont think there is really a need to disable drone service when “safezones” are not going to have guards to keep you safe.

Imagine having to go in and buy something, then hold while you wait for the purchase and delivery to go thru. It’ll be stressful to buy and fun to grub since the person will be on a timer to get their stuff before it goes public to everyone.

I dont see an issue with people using drone delivery to get items especially if the map is large. Though I do think that the delivery charge should scale based on the distance it is traveling to get the item.

Everything else you are talking about is not relevant to the topic.

The biggest group(s) that secure outpost/bandit will have control over who uses drones, buys minis, trades stone for wood. OP functionality that only exists in non-safe zones may imbalance too much
