M2 Rework!#33080

Dear Facepunch Developers,

I love your game but, increasingly, wipes are becoming less enjoyable since there is little incentive to take Bradley or Heli because getting an M2 feels nothing like it used to. I know 𝘴𝘰 many people who feel the same. You guys are the most active and creative game developers in the industry in my opinion, and I think, on some level, you understand something needs to be done. I’m not saying, ‘bring back old recoil, you’ve ruined my game!’ - I don’t believe that. But, the game would substantially benefit from an M2 rework, undoubtedly. Whether that’s simply using the old recoil algorithm for the M2 or a new a completely new one that’s more manageable with the 8x. Either would suffice in improving the M2. To be blunt, this current M2 sucks! So, please, consider reworking it, the supposed ‘best gun in the game’, because in its current state it is truly poor and, consequently, it makes wipes less fun for many players who used to feel that thrill when obtaining the great old gun.

The game feels so fresh currently too, that’s the most frustrating part! With a mere change to the M2, the game would feel even fresher, even more exciting than it already is thanks to your innovation with new monuments, industrial systems and countless other additions to this game that make it like no other. The M2 should be the strongest weapon in the game and at this moment it isn’t. I can’t stress how much more exhilarating the game would be with a more usable M2. I hope you consider my message for the benefit of the players of your amazing game.

People who take bradley now do it for a chance to get l96/c4.
M249 is purely for heli taking or siting on a tree with a camo set or smth, alot of the big zergs recycle them for hqm so they can make aks.

Yea i’ve seen him draw circles around his targets, or barely kill 1 target with 40 bullets and they dont react as he is playing on SEA against chinese with 50hrs in rust.
SEA is the only region where you get raids/raided, but most of them are bad, but it still can be fun.

M249 isn’t the best gun in the game? Doesn’t it have the best stats? The 8x nerf was applied to all guns. The HMLMG was just too strong with the 8x.

No M2 is not the best gun in the game. But you’re right, it should be.

AK is best gun, best in all ranges, can strafe/stand shoot with it.
With m2 you need to be stationary and its still worse.
