Componentless guns#35809

Add some guns (doesn’t have to be top tier) that don’t require comps and by extension scrap to craft

Whether it be a crude shotgun, rifle, and/or pistol having some guns we can make just with wood, cloth, frags, and high qual could be nice.

Would be perfect for shops and grubs as well as those living in the middle of nowhere

They would still be inferior weapons making them on par with T1 weapons or maybe T2 for ones taking more hqm

single shot rifle would make sense. but that would require down tiering 556 or creating a new ammo variant e.g handmade 556

every gun has moving parts. Especially rifles. This wouldnt work.

bows in rust do need rope. Except the hunting bow, rope can easily be made out of tree bark, the bow takes wood. Theres your rope.
Id love to see how you expect our rust character to turn 300 fragments of aluminum into a fully working firearm with moving parts.

Seriously we make C4, MP5s, etc.
But making a single shot rifle is too much without components?

A shotgun is very simple to make compared to a rifle/pistol.
Thats why in countries like ireland and yemen/somalia. You mainly see double barrel homemade shotguns. Instead of fully fledged semi automatic rifles. The mp5 makes sense as it is likely forged with already existing parts, Like a build kit. However where are you going to find a build kit for a single shot homemade rifle.

Literally a single shot rifle and a homemade db are about the same level of complexity.

I dont think you do. There are little moving parts in a pipe shotgun. Maybe an ejector for the cartridges at most. But you could just poke them out with a thin piece of metal. However please show me proof that you can make a rifle that wouldnt explode due to the size of the bullet. That you can make with nothing but a few scraps of metal. And maybe some scrap wood. Almost every homemade rifle/pistol you can think of was made with premade components of other weapons. Most of the time the actual receiver and trigger mechanism are not even homemade. They are just stripped from other weapons. The most common ‘Homemade’ parts are just the barrel and the stock which are not exactly difficult to manufacture if you have any experience.

Literally people have used homemade shotguns with pistol/rifle rounds and just lucky they didn’t blow up
