Team armband system instead of team UI, like in DayZ or Tarkov#37095

Replace team UI with a team armband system. Armbands can help spot teammates but it can also make you easier to spot by enemies. This adds risk to teaming, which Rust is all about risk/reward. And this is more realistic.

This can also improve clan interactions, by being able to see if a player is with an allied clan or enemy clan.

When have we ever talked about team UI? And this is the first time, I suggested something like this. This is a compromise between no team UI.

i remember some lads around the 1940s who loved to use those armbands too.

rust isnt a simulator, this is all just a bad cope for solo players who are brainlocked into thinking they would have any chance against a 10 man cause theres no dots above their head. ive played without UI and its pretty obvious whos team and who isnt and there are unlimited methods to finding out the person mid fight. ur not gonna be superman, you will still be the solo db who have never crafted a kit

@KommandantJ Crafted a kit? Do you think because you loaded in to a max 300 server while being 6 deep at fucking lighthouse farming barrels to bp a kit makes you good? 1 half decent player is better than you and everyone you have ever played with twice over. The problem is that the better player will almost never win a fight with even a slightly bigger team. Thats not how games are supposed to work. While in some respects numbers should provide advantage. There needs to be some sort of skill gap however small it may be to reward good and dedicated players. “game sense” isnt even a real thing. Its just a made up word that people like to throw around when they dont have an actual argument.
Before team ui the only way to tell a team member was jump checks or kit checks. Thats plenty of time to kill someone before they realize ur not on their team. You wouldnt know this as you’re just a newgen loser. But thats cool!

@KommandantJ oh please, I played without team UI and it was much easier to confuse and inter-fight a team. Especially if you managed to kill one and swap for their clan outfit.

@KommandantJ Without team UI, a solo isn’t going to beat a 10 man, but a small group with better comms can easily beat a 10 man.

And if you say it’s easy to determine team members without team UI, then you should have no problem without it.

Also fps shooters played on a keyboard and mouse can never be a simulator. And survival games should aim to be more realistic for the emersion.
