Half floor#510

Add half floors in to the game so you can make ledges for a example. They would look like a normal square but cut im half. Would make the building in this game more intressing for diffrent types of defending.

i think it would get too complicated and a lot of work must be done to no glitch with them (maybe wall stacking could be possible again(Helky no likey))

not really . , the mid floors would have the same cost or robably less , ti would make bases look like literal houses unless youa re an m2 roof camper , if you are that you will upvote

Whilst the flexibility sounds nice, pretty sure this would completely scuff raiding as would allow for too much honeycombing

Just make it so you can’t attach walls to the half roofs, and problem solved. I personally don’t care if they’re added as long as honeycombing isn’t buffed.

I don’t see how it could buff honeycombing. You wouldn’t be able to attach anything to the unconnected side of the floor and job’s a goodun.

only allow low walls to be attached and boom easy balcony, no wall stacking

might be too op

Maybe call it a “ledge” instead, with a small low wall in the side. Can´t be used to honeycomb, but can be used to walk on and have boxes

“Limitations of our current system?” My ninja you can program a goddamn attack helicopter and a big ass excavator but you can’t program a fucking half floor?

@Justin Koehler You’re comparing two events / entities / work that are not player directed to a complex modular build system that IS user defined / intended to be directed by the player. They are far and away completely unrelated which you falsely simplified - only a simpleton makes that argument, even if its a bad joke / sarcasm.

“Limitations of our current system” is short for: limitations that are too technical in nature to explain that you will not understand anyway (even other devs outside of FP won’t as the source code and idealogy isn’t public), while also preventing all cases that a player may use the half wall for that are not intentional.

Stay salty though.

@WOrLdWAr2 calm down keyboard warrior, it was indeed sarcasm, no need to go fucking dweeb mode on me, just because you spend all of your time debugging your shit-ass code doesn’t mean that I can’t make a joke that people who actually go outside can have a laugh at.

I mean come on, its clear that they are much smarter than me when it comes to code, its not like i have a fucking phd in coding or being a smart-ass, like yourself.

Obviously they know what they are doing, and I don’t know how any of that shit works, nor do I care. They say nerdy shit, I make a joke, other nerds like you go sicko-mode over what is supposed to be comedy

Calling me salty when you turn a joke into a life-lesson like how my fucking mom does

@Justin Koehler Being toxic as usual I see. Insulting someone on a website designed for game development for being too educated on the topic.

Also, if you put out an extremely unfunny attempt at a “joke,” dont get mad when someone calls you out for it. Just take the L. Theres nothing funny about what you said, and only makes you look a bit ignorant.

Is this being reevaluated for building 5.0? I still think with some limitations, half floors could be the next big addition that would enable simple shelves or another form of jump-ups.

I think now is the best time to introduce this, building has been the same for the past 2 years 💀
