Code Lock uses Eletricity#5948

this made me think about this improvement.

So far Code Lock causes eletric damage if you type a wrong password. Where the hell the eletricity come from?

So to make more sense: Make Code Lock require Eletricity to work.

this just forces everyone to use normal locks and keys until they find and craft all the required electricity components. Codelocks should be able to be used by everyone, not just rich players.

@MisterE I understand what you’re saying, but Code Lock should give something more than just being a “More cool Lock”.

So far i never use Code Lock, because there is no diference between this and Key Lock besides of the cost and functionality.

If Code Lock gives more health to the door or something else, but it doesn’t prevent a raid in any way if i compare to a Key Lock.

The requirement of Eletricity is just one step. Now it does need a buff effect to the door.

@Plínio José I like the idea.

I know code locks are mostly convenience for groups of players. On the other hand, groups have so many advantages already that a small change like that would slow them down a bit in their progress compared to solo players.

Incredibly dumb and game breaking.

@Plínio José so you hook up all codelocks in your base to electricity, go to bed, next morning you wake up and someone destroyed your solar panels. You are now trapped in your base with no way of getting electricity back to the locks. This idea is very stupid on so many levels.

@MisterE Same issue as always. You guys ( @MisterE, @Tddy, @Rasmus Fink ) don’t read the suggestion properly and try to tell @Plínio José and other supportes like me that they are dumb!?! xD

I highly recommend that you retards use your brains for once and read and understand what is suggested before replying with brainless stuff like:

someone destroyed your solar panels. You are now trapped in your base

@Plínio José Wants code locks to require batteries like suggested in #5939. Nobody ever talked about hooking up the codelock with wires to a solar panel or anything kids!

Look at the item that we are talking about: https://rustlabs.com/item/battery-small

Finally making use of the battery-small and other items like Duct Tape that are already in the game, but currently have no purpose is the best idea. Simply add battery-small as a part of the crafting recipe for code locks, flash lights and weapon flashlights. They can be found in the Tool Boxes around the map or even in Primitve Crates or Ration Boxes.

Makes sense.
The design of the Code lock have 2 light (green and red). Which it doesn’t make sense to have the Battery - Small, bringing back this unsued item as @Yoda1285 mention.

@Plínio José And you completely disreguarded the whole point, it wasn’t about solos vs small groups, it was solos and small groups vs clans. What about the clans, they won’t have any issues with it at all and will just glance over it as another thing they just have to get someone to do out of the 20 people or more that they have.

I don’t see where you getting with your statement. May i ask you for a better explanation?

My suggestion is about making Code Lock to use the item Battery - Small, because the design concept of the Code Lock model have lights on it, meaning that it uses electricity.

Another point that it would make Code Lock be a later item, since it is only used because it is “safe” to share a “code” than a Key (from Key Lock). Beyond that, there is no diference at all between those two.

Yeah… the upkeep diference in TC… i know…

Was looking at the suggestions and i found this. @Plínio José Really nice suggestion. For the most funny thing:

@Evvte tV must be really “mad” on your quote:

I wonder how you feel about Auto turrets when the patch arrive making them require eletricity to work. I feel you gonna be sooooo mad. lmao.

Just because he thinks at that time that this suggestion is “stupid”, i imagine that when the update came out, he remembered this and rage soooo bad. LMAO

Anyway. @Plínio José outstanding idea! thumbs up!

Hold up hes onto something i have a better idea due to a comment made about the electric shock from the lock… fuck the whole needimg electric to use it thats to much and too many problems to justify yhis although qould be cool of solar couldnt be broken or something… that is not the case but i think code lock should work as is… HOWEVER.. electric is needed ONLY of u want it to shock people apon failure of entering the code this would make code raiding slightly more popular but still unlikely and i think it adds a cool balance gives a dedicated solo the chance to offline that dick zerg trying to prim lock him
