RF detonated C4#7304
Add a “remote C4” to be detonated by a customizable RF frequency.
Should have the same blast yield as normal C4 but require extra tech trash to craft. Should also have a limited lifetime before the “battery dies”.

C4 remote will just be very over-powered because, they can be used as a special detonation devise, and they can also be used as an airlock cleaner and placed around the base and be forgotten about, when raiders come, the owners can fine tune to each c4 and clean one place at a time. Basically used as a base trap to kill raiders, if c4 is in chest or in hands and some dude is transmitting that exact frequency with via broadcaster, it can also accidentally go off. I assume if they did do this, the default freq would be 0000 which means it can go off automatically, but this is my assumption only.
@ZESTY I see your reasoning, but if they’re more expensive then regular C4 I don’t see why this cannot be balanced to make it so that it is fair for everyone. If someone is willing to put in the hard work of making, placing and using these tactically I don’t see why it would be an unfair advantage for the one using it.
If you’re really afraid its gonna be too OP you could have the option to change the C4’s frequentie when they’re deployed, giving someone who’s passing by and finds them the chance to “disable” them. Also, I think shooting the deployed C4 should detonate it, to give people the ability to defend themselves from it.
About your worries when stored in a chest, that would be a fair risk for such an “over-powered” device, don’t you think? Also, if there ends up being a default frequency (Which doesn’t neccesairliy have to be the case).. Why not change it after crafting? Would be pretty dumb to store it that way if there is a default frequency. Having people accidentally broadcast on your frequency is the case with everything you tie to an RF receiver, so this is’t more of a risk then having auto doors or sensors being tied to them.
I like the idea @Mick de Jong, facepunch needs to find away that it wouldn’t go off, but my opinion would be like the vending machine, you can stop broadcasting, this can be done with c4 as well, generally I think they should make it so that each and ever c4 can be configured to a custom time, but with c4 rn there is a 10 sec, this gives owners of base a 10 sec to ready up, as youkmow each second counts, with the remote people are able to breach with 5 sec if 2 people through c4 and 1 to explode with remote. But the idea is still good but not at a raiding equipment but a tactical use only. The idea of setting time for c4 I think that’s a better option I think 1 to 30 sec and right click to prime it.
@ZESTY would like to have a C4 as a base defense :D or any explosives like an IED thats lethal to people but not much for the buildings
@ZESTY or just give it the same 10 second primer as regular C4 & make it give slow and quiet beeps when placed but not triggered so that people passing by it are aware that theyre close to deployed explosives.
There are many ways to balance this, but I’d say we keep the use case the same as regular C4, my idea is to be able to blast trough a wall at once, or take out foundations or something. C4 is already very expensive, if we make this even more expensive I dont think it will be overused.
