Highlight single electricity wire on hover#7813

With a complicated electricity setup it becomes impossible to see which wire is doing what. The ability to focus on a single wire and have only that one light up would be fantastic, then you can just follow the wire back to its source/destination.

Alternatively (and probably better now I think about it), when you click on a component (say a switch), it highlights the switch, the wire, and whatever it’s connected to. Likewise if you click the wire (it highlights the wire and both components).

Yes, totally. THIS. It is a real hassle when you’re working in cramped, small environments with the electrical runs. The first thing I’d want is a different color highlight to a cable run when you take the electrical tool to an input/output that is connected somewhere. Even that would help. (For example: show the active input’s cable run [where it’s coming from and going to] in black&bright yellow instead of the animated black&white…)

I’ve also made a suggestion on either automatically numbering each electrical unit that is installed in the base, or giving the user the option to give a name to each electrical unit (i.e. the same way you rename sleeping bags.)
