Automatically plant seeds upon dropping on ground#9812

So I was out looking for Hemp on a fresh wipe, without any luck, and thought to myself “What if dropped seeds would automatically plant?”.

I just thought it would be a good addition.

i think its good idea but when you drop like 10 seeds or in very fast servers hundred seeds what happends ? you plant new field of corn or hemp or you plan it in one point and someones go and take in one spot 50 times hemp and have in clean servers 500 cloth ? not much good idea. Better idea is to server [physical server] have map parting on chunks [small areas of map ussually squares] and control activity in this chunks and spawns items here by the people who is there or just run trough but this is not easy too and have a high demands on server.

I dont think the seeds itself should stack on ground. Maybe lets say 5 seeds could make a bigger hemp plant, but everything over 5 seeds will still count as that one big plant or something. We can play around with the thought.

there is a plugin…..
but then an issue….. every seed is an Entity which spawns multiple Entities.. which ultimalty leads to rubberbanding & crashed servers…
Many Player ideas are implemented as server plugins…, then when the impact is discoverd they are scrapped.

Currently you throw the seeds or drop them & those entities are removed from the game. and the world contines to spin…

Perhaps only a single seed can plant from the stack and the rest could despawn and “fertilize” the seedling?

possibly….. maybe people should check:
https://www.chaoscode.io/resources/categories/rust.2/
https://umod.org/plugins?page=1&sort=title&sortdir=asc&categories=rust
then readup on some of the foriums, you will see from this……..
“horse riding” & other things FP implemented, that were relesed BEFORE FP implemented them….

it might actually work better for people if they moved to the “plugin” sites, becasue plugin authrs are always looking for new ideas to try…
then if it works.. who knows maybe FP will steal it….
