Upgrading workbench rather than having destroying it#2317

Upgrade button when wb opened and youll just have to have the things for upgrade in your inventory and it will automaticly upgrade lets say from the lvl2 to lvl3

And if u upgrade it u can actually move it (pick it up and place it again)

if you can choos between upgrad and craft, this is a great idea.

I would add that each upgraded workbench should allow the gamble of the previous tier. It would be a huge bonus to gamble for a Tier1 BP in a T2 bench if desired.

Good idea, but the fact that the workbenches take up varying amount of space might be an issue in some cases. Perhaps it can be so that when you choose to upgrade, the old workbench disappears and the new workbench gets added to your inventory, so you can then place it wherever you want.

Saitri thats an option too but mainly its just better to lets say remove the boxes around WB than the acuall WB

workbenches are different dimensions from eachother so this would cause problems.

Also due to how durable they are you should not be able to pick up a tier 2/3 workbench, you could easily use them to halt raiders

But imagine crafting lvl 2 and than lvl 3 from it. and the lvl 2 is useless from that point so you know

@Dreamy, but they aren’t useless. If you upgrade you can no longer do experiments for that level WB. I typically keep a level 2 and level 3 to run experiments on if I want something you don’t have at the end of a wipe. Usually night before wipe day I scrap EVERYTHING and start experimenting for things I don’t have, most of the time they are tier2 items. Upgrading would prevent this.

@Netimp they could maybe implement it into the lvl3 somehow, there are lot of ways how to do it and in my opinion its just better to upgrade than destroy even the lvl1 even tough 75 scrap isnt the most. but you get the idea

This is implemented, just right click on a higher tier bench when you have a workbench open, and it will replace

Since when…? Isn’t that just a mod?
